Wednesday we're throwing a party to celebrate this landmark with 5 songs each from 5 big local acts, and $5 Jack Daniel's shots! Come celebrate this big milestone with us. Acts include Gethen Jenkins (Freightshakers), Daniel Bonte, Michael Monroe Goodman, Groovy Rednecks members Talkin' Treason, and of course Just Dave Band with special guests
Here's what's coming up at the Last Chance Country Jam, hosted by Just Dave Band:
Feb 28: Thank You, Johnny. A night of Johnny Cash's music celebrating his birthday. Sing one for Johnny!
Mar 7: The Pearl Snap Shirt Exchange night #2. Everyone with western shirts that don't fit anymore brings in shirts to trade to fellow musicians. Keep 'em nice and clean and of course, take a shirt home with you for the stage!
Mar 28: Bakersfield Sound Night with guest opener Céleigh Chapman.
Wednesday Feb 14 we celebrate Valentine's Day with a night of singers and pickers, all playing a Waylon tune'r'two with the house band, at our weekly jam night at Maui Sugar Mill Saloon, Tarzana. 9pm. C'mon down and get some real love from one of the best in outlaw country.
Happy New Year! Stay tuned for further updates on our growing weekly country music jam at Maui Sugar Mill Saloon, every Wednesday night.
Last week was a tough one. I found myself wanting to hug and comfort my LA/OC survivors of the Route 91 shooting, but I had to hit the road and play in a new town. Guess what? I found the same pain and, stranglely, comfort in being around survivors in that new town. It was hard to keep smiling amidst the occassional tears, but it was important to do our part and to continue without fear... needless to say, we made some new friends up in Lone Pine, CA.
Speaking of doing our part, Sunday Oct 22 I'll be on the lineup of a great charity concert in our San Fernando/Conejo Valley area for local families affected by the Route 91 festival shooting with great local bands. Click the image below to purchase tickets or donate:
A note from Dave: In light of the tragic event in Las Vegas Sunday night that affected many members of our country family (not to mention the news of Tom Petty's passing on Monday), I thought long and hard whether I should even PLAY music this week, let alone still do Wednesday's planned Pearl Snap Shirt Exchange.
Then I realized, we need this. Country music folks are a family, and we need to support our family. We do this by playing music together, supporting those who wish to play, and giving them the shirt off our backs to do it (or, the shirts out of our closets). So we continue, for better or worse.
October 4th, 2017 is our first ever Pearl Snap Shirt Exchange. We're bringing a rack, you bring us a fancy stage shirt or two that you don't use or fit in anymore, and we'll find it a good home! See something you like? Take it home! It's a great way to find some cool stage duds, and hang out with a few country music studs as well! Ladies shirts welcome, too! Email us for more details... bring some clothes hangars, too!
It's been a hot, busy summer. JDB in one form or the other is playing about 5-6 nights a week all over the west. This Wednesday, our weekly jam becomes a BIRTHDAY JAM with a ton of great friends sitting in with us.
I can't believe it's been 4 years since we started the Last Chance Country Jam at Maui Sugar Mill Saloon in Tarzana. Over those years we've seen all sorts of talented acts come through, including John Doe, Dave Grohl, Travis Meadows, Bryan White, Bob Livingston, and so many more local legends.
Join us for the 4th Year Anniversary Jam on 3/22. Lineup to be announced (Follow the link for the Facebook Invite).
Just Dave Band will be opening for country great Hal Ketchum at the Canyon Club Event Center in Agoura Hills on March 9. We have tickets for sale on our online STORE, or shoot us an email on the CONTACT link for will call or tickets shipped to you.
No uncertainty here. This year is going to rock! Already in the can, our first big TV appearance (as a band) on a new pilot for the CMT Network called "His Wives & Daughters". Check us out as the backup band for the "Eddie Ray Banks Theater"... soon.
Here's one of the stars of the show Jeff Kober (The Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy) with us on set:
Just Dave Band is teaming up with the Fender Music Foundation (fendermusicfoundation.org) to bring guitars, instruments and accessories to over 50 school programs and students in the Los Angeles Area. Please make plans to attend 1 or our 4 local shows, where we plan to "Fill up Dave's truck" with all sorts of instruments for kids in need. My first harmonica was a gift many years ago, so this cause is very near and dear to my heart.
For every $100 we raise, we can present a guitar with a bunch of accessories to kids in each of these venue's areas.
For more information, please leave us a message in our CONTACT section, or email Dave at email@example.com
